OVERVIEW
What is ABM?
ABM is the short term for Accountancy, Business and Management. ABM strand is under the Academic Track of K-12 Program. This is perfect for those inclined in Mathematics and to those people who wants to enter the world of business. The Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand would focus on the basic concepts of financial management, business management, corporate operations, and all things that are accounted for.Accountancy
Accountancy is the profession or practice of accounting. It is the practice of recording, classifying, and reporting on business transactions for a business. It provides feedback to management regarding the financial results and status of an organization.
Business
Businesses can be for-profit entities or nonprofit organizations that operate to fulfill a charitable mission or further a social cause. Business is also the organized efforts and activities of individuals to produce and sell goods and services for profit.
Management
Management is the coordination of the activities of a business in order to achieve desired object. It is the process of using resources in order to reach organizational goals. It is also the art of getting things done through efforts.

Knowing the definition of Business and Management, Business Management is therefore the management in all business areas and organizational activities are the acts of getting people together to accomplish desired goals and objectives efficiently and effectively.

Advantages

- no need for Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and other specialize mathematical subjects
Disadvantages
- quiet expensive college courses
- if you really hate numbers that much, then you'll have a hard time in this strand
OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCES BY THE AUTHORS, SO FAR, IN TAKING THE ABM STRAND
The authors of this blog are Senior High School students in the ABM strand that are currently in Grade 11.

As a Senior High School student, taking ABM strand is quite difficult for me because I used to do easy works from my previous school and it's really hard for me to do a big adjustment in my new school. In everyday working, I slowly able to adjust with the help of my teachers and classmates who motivate. With those people, I enjoy my journey I'm taking right now. Yes, its hard, but I'm still with it because this is an opportunity to learn more about ABM which is something that I can apply in the future.
Being a Senior High School student, taking ABM strand is quite difficult especially when you're forced to take that strand and it isn't your passion. If I were to rate my 2 months journey in this strand, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, I'll rate it as 8 though it's difficult adjusting at first, you'll able to adjust well with the help of your teachers and classmates. And honestly, I'm enjoying this journey so far because they're giving us opportunities as well as they're giving us challenges to be ready for the future.
As a student of Senior High School who take the ABM strand, at first I found myself as a newbie because I still adjust from the new system but as my journey continues, I started to feel comfortable. For me, ABM strand is easier when my classmates work together as one. To be honest, ABM strand is quite difficult because it focuses especially on business but on the other hand, I find it interesting. Honestly, if I were to rate my experience, I'll give it a 8/10 and I hope it gets better as it goes forward.
It's just our 3rd month in the Senior High School yet it has been very challenging. To be honest, I really find mathematics difficult but the reason I decided to take ABM strand is because I find it interesting. I like how we'll study business-related topics and it's so applicable to the daily life since we're dealing with money and such. Someday, I might as well try to build my own business (I'm not sure). My parents' courses in college, back in the days, also has something to do or related with ABM. So far, for our Organization & Management class, it's challenging me in terms of so many concepts being presented. In the case of Business Mathematics, even though it doesn't deal with complicated math, it challenged me in terms of the long solutions for problem solving and you'll go back to your math lessons during elementary days which is a bit confusing since we're used to so much x and ys. Even though SHS and ABM strand are challenging, I'm still enjoying it with my classmates.
CONCLUSION
Overall, the authors recommend y'all to take the ABM strand as long as it fits your skills and interests. We're hoping that this blog helped y'all to know more about the strand. We're also hoping that we're able to convinced y'all to take ABM. Don't think too much of the workload and challenges because that's normal (even students from other strands experienced it too). If ever you choose ABM in the future, we suggest that y'all should just enjoy it since it fits you. Honestly, everything still depends on you. It's you who will decide on what path will you take therefore think wisely.
